Itinerary

Your journey begins at Memorial Beach, where you will be fitted with life jackets and listen to brief safety and paddling instructions before you paddle off at about 10:30 am. Then, get ready for adventure!

Within minutes, you will experience your first small rapid and have the chance to feel the water temperature difference where small creeks merge into the river. Vineyards line the river, and along the way you will pass many places to stop for a swim or view the wildlife that call the river home. You might see Snowy Egrets, Blue Heron, turtles and even otters. There are many fish, from Steelhead to Salmon, that live in the river and seasonally migrate upstream to spawn.

You will enjoy a delicious picnic lunch on the bank of the river. A typical menu might include pesto pasta salad, yummy sandwiches, local organic salad greens, seasonal fruit, and dessert. After lunch, you will continue down the river until you reach the end of your journey. Return around 3:00 pm and jump into the van for the 15 minute drive back to Healdsburg, where your guides will bid you farewell.       What is the distance I will paddle? -- Most kayaking routes are between 5-7 miles.

      What is the weather like? -- Beautiful! It normally does not rain from the beginning of May to the end of October or November. The mornings can be foggy, but not cold. Summer highs vary from the 70's to 90's with low humidity. Tours operate rain or shine because it is usually expected to be sunny.

      What should I wear? -- Wear clothes you do not mind getting wet in. Bathing suits, shorts and t-shirts are best. River shoes or sandals like Tevas are perfect. Don’t forget a strap for your sunglasses, a hat, and sun block!

      What is for lunch? -- A typical menu might include pesto pasta salad, yummy sandwiches, local organic salad greens, seasonal fruit, and dessert. The menu varies by what is fresh in season locally.

      How many people will be on the tour? -- Group sizes are typically 8 to 10 people, the maximum is always limited to 12 people.

Cancellation Policy

There are no refunds. All sales are final.

Change policy

If changes are allowed on a tour or activity, a $20.00 per reservation change fee will be applied for any change to a reservation. Please note that some tours and activities do not allow any changes. Date changes can only be made only if we can confirm availability on the new date. While we cannot guarantee any changes can be made, all change requests must be submitted a minimum of 24 hours prior to the tour departure and must be handled on an individual basis through our Reservations Center.
