Typical Itinerary
We come together near Alexander Valley at 10:00 am. This allows you ample time to finish your B&B breakfast or make the drive up from virtually anywhere in the Northern California region. We fit you to a Specialized Hybrid bike along with a helmet, bag, and comfortable gel-seat. Your leader goes over the "Rules of the Road" as well as how to operate the bike.

We're off at about 10:30 am. Your leader will explain the sights and local wine facts and history. We ride over the Russian River and down into the Alexander Valley. Passing Jim Town, we turn onto Red Winery Road. Quiet, peaceful, and virtually traffic free, this enchanting road will take us to Robert Young Winery, our first stop of the day. There we will have a chance to sample some of their fine wines. The support van is nearby for wine purchases, water, or extra support.

Getting back on our bikes we continue riding while enjoying the views of the vineyards and surrounding hills. With a flat road, it is easy to enjoy the scenery and fresh air. We continue to our next stop, Mosiac Winery. Here we will have a chance to try their wines and enjoy our gourmet lunch.

Dining with us is quite an event. Shade oaks provide a canopy with views of the valley. Enjoy a wine country lunch, with a menu that typically includes: pesto pasta salad, local organic salad greens, fresh baked bread, artisan cheeses, seasonal fruit, and dessert.

After lunch we climb into our kayaks for a leisurely paddle along this picturesque, slow-moving river that winds its way through wine country, filled with birds and wild-life. There will be a few opportunities for some excitement as we go through Class I rapids. We finish our trip at approximately 4:00 pm at the campgrounds. Here we bid you farewell and thank you for riding with us!
